Empowering Families Enriching Schools Together
AFIS™ is the only organisation bringing together the voices of supporters of independent education (parents, relatives, school staff and alumni) throughout the UK and making sure they are heard in the national education conversation.
With the collective input of our member families we can bring positivity, truth and balance to the discussion.
We exist to champion and celebrate independent education in the UK
We are funding and commissioning robust research, including surveys about members' demographic profiles and contributions to society and the economy; this will allow us to fuel a better informed, truly representative debate. No organisation has ever compiled such powerful information by involving parents, relatives, staff, alumni and schools.
But that's not all. We celebrate all the good things about private schooling, rewarding the families who choose it and the schools that deliver it.

Engagement and Benefits
AFIS™ Families & Individual Members
Have Your Voice Heard:
By contributing to our much-needed research through this unique national community, our members enrich public and policy debates with a more representative, evidence-based perspective.
We reward AFIS™ member families with special offers and perks from our commercial partners -- because paying school fees can be a struggle, and we want to make it just a little easier by saving you money on other things.
AFIS™ Schools Partnerships
Receive Donations & Support Your School Community:
By partnering with AFIS™ to grow our member base of individuals and families, independent schools can help to ensure that all supporters of private education (parents, school staff and alumni) have the opportunity to contribute their views to AFIS™ research projects and benefit from AFIS™ member rewards.
Family members can nominate the school/s they wish to support through their membership. These schools can receive a percentage of AFIS™ revenue in donations and sponsorship.

Understanding the challenges and working together for positive solutions
Fewer families are able to choose an independent education for their children
Schools are having to reduce the amount of fee-assistance they are able to offer to families
More private schools are closing as a result of increasing financial pressures and the impact of VAT on school fees
The debate around private schools has become divisive and destructive

We decided to do something productive to help families, children and schools.
Please join us and support independent education, receive valuable information and perks, share your views, connect with other families and supporters and take part in important research. Our community is safe, honest and respectful.
Strength in our numbers
- Over 9 Million adults in the U.K. received a private education: 1 in 5 adults
- There are over 550,000 pupils currently at private schools.
- There are more than 2,500 independent schools in the U.K.
There is strength in our numbers, so let's collaborate and present a unified voice.
