AFIS is commissioning the University of Chichester to conduct independent, academically rigorous research to answer the important question:

Who are independent schooling families and why do they choose independent schooling.  The outcome of this national study will bring robust data and powerful evidence to the heated debate about independent schooling.

We also undertake our own analysis of relevant data , guided by AFIS Head of Research, Dr Seth Thomas, to shine a light on many factors affecting independent schooling families.

We publish this data and analysis to  inform, guide, and spark thoughtful discussion. Whether you’re a parent navigating choices for your child a school leader or an independent schooling alumnus,  research provides practical insight and evidence to inform a more balanced, truthful debate.
