At AFIS, we believe that every child deserves an education that recognises their individual potential, and every parent deserves the clarity to find it. Today, we are honoured to introduce three remarkable individuals who have joined our mission to champion educational choice and family-led decision-making.

Dr Rosemary Taylor: AFIS Ambassador

“One of this country’s finest thinkers.” – Lord Willis

We are privileged to welcome Dr Rosemary Taylor as an AFIS Ambassador. With over 30 years’ experience in education and leadership, Rosemary is a powerhouse of knowledge in Educational Psychology. Holding a Master’s in Educational Management and a PhD examining the Impact of Change on Human Behaviour, she has spent her career transforming failing schools into thriving institutions and advising public and private sector organisations globally.

As the former Senior Partner at Key Issues Consultancy, Rosemary’s influence has reached from local classrooms to government ministers across Europe, China, and the Middle East. Her deep understanding of the developing brain and adolescent development makes her an invaluable voice for our community.

Insights from Dr Rosemary Taylor: Rosemary frequently shares her expertise on the evolving landscape of education. You can read two of her recent, thought-provoking pieces here:

“Following Rosemary's insights on how one size doesn't fit all in education, we invite our community to take action.”The AFIS petition is now on change.org: Our petition against "school labels" is officially live. Please read more about our mission HERE and add your name to the petition to support educational choice for all.

Why Rosemary Supports AFIS:

"Parents deserve clear, trustworthy guidance when making important decisions about their child’s education and wellbeing. I’m delighted to support AFIS because they put families first by helping parents navigate independent education with clarity, confidence and a strong sense of what really matters for their children."

Gary & Karen Alliss: AFIS Patrons

A Legacy of Excellence and a Fight for Fairness

We are equally delighted to announce Gary and Karen Alliss as AFIS Patrons. The Alliss name is synonymous with professional golf, representing a century-long legacy in the sport. Gary, a PGA Master Professional with 53 years in the game, and Karen, who managed their golf shop with expert precision for decades, bring a grounded, family-first perspective to AFIS.

Their commitment to educational choice is deeply personal. When their daughter began to "hide" in an over-large primary school due to her dyslexia, Gary and Karen saw first-hand the risks of a system where individual needs can go unnoticed.

The reality of the situation was brought home by a startling Christmas report: a teacher praised their daughter’s performance in a carol concert that she had actually missed due to absence. This lack of individual attention drove the family towards the independent sector, ensuring their children were truly "seen".

The Alliss Family Vision: Today, Gary and Karen are vocal advocates for accessibility. They worry that the imposition of 20% VAT on school fees makes private education an impossible consideration for many. They feel strongly that parents should be empowered with a voucher of £10,000 to spend where they wish on their children’s education.

Why the Alliss Family Supports AFIS:

"For us, supporting AFIS is a matter of principle. We support AFIS because choice for education is uppermost in our opinion."

Moving Forward Together

Whether through Dr Taylor’s academic insight or the Alliss family’s lived experience and sporting prestige, AFIS is strengthened by these new partnerships. Together, we continue to stand for transparency, choice, and—most importantly—the success of every student.

Please join us in giving a warm welcome to Dr Rosemary Taylor, Gary Alliss, and Karen Alliss!
